To help to combat the age demographic which we see within the nuclear sector, the NI is undertaking a series of initiatives to assist in the transfer of knowledge within the sector. One of the key ways in which the NI intend to address this issue is by collaborating with Expert Alumni to help both individuals and companies to benefit from the opportunities offered by harnessing the expertise of the retiring workforce. In an effort to genuinely make a difference, the services offered by Expert Alumni will help in the following ways:

Individuals

can become members of Expert Alumni (there is no cost involved).  Once registered, you can develop your profile that is based not just on job titles and company tenure, but on specific areas of expertise and personal preferences so that your post retirement work can be not only rewarding but also enjoyable.  Expert Alumni will work with you to find the role, or roles that truly suit you. EI membership will add value to your application as confirmation of your professionalism.

Companies

will benefit from being able to profile their requirements and let Expert Alumni use their sophisticated profiling capability to match their needs with the “Life and career DNA” of the Expert Alumni members to find the required experience and talent .

All too often, it is found that retired individuals are not only unfulfilled in their retirement but also increasingly less easy to locate.  It is clear that the industry is in need of experienced individuals, yet on the other side, we hear that individuals do not have enough to do.  We believe that the connectivity provided by Expert Alumni can significantly improve the situation offering a solution to the increasing skills gap and bridging the needs of the energy industry with those of the individual.

Some roles that experience can fulfil:
